But I thought I’d share with you some of my blog inspirations and style icons:
Each one of these girls I love for different reasons but they all share a great amount of confidence in what they wear. And I think looking happy and comfortable are definitely the most important things when it comes to fashion (alternative or not).
There are so many different people out there and each one has their own style and it’s amazing! I love seeing what girls wear and what they buy because not only can I appreciate it without buying it, it gives me an idea of my own style and choices.
Each person put’s their personality into their clothes, be they practical, over the top or just nice. And if you’re happy in skinny jeans and a band tee then go for it, but if you want to mix it up a little then go look at some online alternative shops or go to the high street and have a nose around and if something takes your fancy, but it’s not what you normally wear then grab it! Mix it into your wardrobe, match it with a band tee or skinnies. You’ll soon settle into your own style :)
I know my style is still changing everyday! I would have never worn rings and statement necklaces at 17, nor going out dresses. In fact at 17 I was very comfortable in band tees and jeans too! And there are plenty of things I bought then that I look at now (or got rid of!) that I think, God, I didn’t wear that did I? But that’s all part of developing a personal style :)
Here are some of my favourite alternative brands:
But thrift shopping or secondhand/vintage shops are a great way to individualise yourself away from the high street My biggest advice is pick a decade fashion you love and personalise it to your tastes and modern attitude.
Good luck <3
